Welcome, and thank you for visiting my Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5D03 website.
My name is Sean Barry and I want to keep ANC 5D03 healthy, working and safe. I’m a Carver-Langston neighbor, hospital group spokesperson and Age-Friendly DC 2023 task force member who served as lead public information officer in the Office of the DC Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services from 2017 to 2019.
ANC 5D03 covers the Carver portion of Carver-Langston, including Flats at Atlas, Carver Terrace and rowhouses, condos and apartments on L St, M St, Lyman Pl, Lang Pl and surrounding streets. The National Arboretum is right in our backyard, and we are a short walk to H Street, Benning Road and Bladensburg Road. Gallaudet University is in the Trinidad neighborhood to our immediate west.
We're a mix of people and households from many backgrounds, some with families that have been in the District for generations and others who moved here at different points in their life and now call the District home.
You can read more about my background, issues that are important to me, neighborhood news, COVID-19 resources, organizations that have endorsed my candidacy, how to get involved and your options for voting this year.
We're still in the middle of a public health pandemic and social distancing rules, so reaching people in larger groups will not be possible. I look forward to continuing to meet as many of you as I can, while keeping everyone safe.
Neighbors expect a commissioner who is accessible, transparent and professional. If you have a question or concern, or if you didn’t find what you were looking for, please get in touch:
