DC Government Urges Use of New COVID Alert Notice

Mayor Bowser and the DC Department of Health are urging District residents to opt-in to the DC COVID Alert Notice (DC CAN). The notification system is meant to assist with contact tracing so people can take proper precautions, including quarantining if they may have been exposed. More information is available here.

House-Passed Heroes Act Contains Funding for DC

Legislation passed in the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday includes funding and provisions to help the District of Columbia, according to Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton. This includes $755 million in retroactive CARES Act fiscal relief; authorization for D.C. to participate in the Federal Reserve’s Municipal Liquidity Facility; and additional city, state and county relief. Shooting Occurs Overnight on Lang Pl

The Metropolitan Police Department early this morning released an alert about a shooting on the 1700 block of Lang Place. The shooting occurred closer to 19th Street, and MPD is working with residents on possible video footage. No further information has been released at this time.
